The Government has announced new reforms

The Government has announced new reforms to significantly increase the development and growth of Indigenous businesses and employment in its initial response to Creating Parity – the Forrest Review. These announcements can be found at: www.indigenous.gov.au

Submission Period Now Closed

Following the release of Creating Parity – the Forrest Review – the Australian Government began consultations and sought submissions to obtain feedback on the overarching direction of the Review to inform its response to the Review’s recommendations. The six week consultation period ended on 20 September and submissions have now closed.The Government will provide its response after careful consideration of the Review’s recommendations.

The Review of Indigenous Training and Employment Programmes is expected to report to the Prime Minister in June 2014.  Extra time has been provided given the scope and breadth of the Review to ensure matters were given appropriate consideration.

Submissions to the Indigenous Jobs and Training Review have now closed. Over 300 submissions were received, so thank you to everyone who made a submission and has contributed to the Review.

Initial Review consultations have been held

More than 1,500 people turned out to attend public consultation meetings across Australia last week as part of the Federal Coalition Government's Review of Indigenous Training and Employment Programmes.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Hon Alan Tudge MP has released a media release following the week of initial consultations.

The first public consultation meeting was held last week in Perth and meetings have been held in both Adelaide and Alice Springs today.

As seating at each venue is limited please ensure you register your attendance in advance.
